Brief Biography
Professor Chon is a senior research associate at the Korea Institute of National Unification. He is an expert in North Korea’s political structure and the US – North Korea relations. He has served as an advisor to the Ministry of Unification and the Korea National Security Council. He is an active member of the Korean Political Science Association and the Korean International Political Science Association. In 2006, he also served as the President of the North Korean Studies Association in Korea. He has taught at many universities including Kyung Hee University, Suk Myung Women’s University, and Dong Kuk University. He frequently appears on television, on such shows as Road to Unification and SBS News. He holds a doctoral degree from Chonnam National University in Korea.
